Open banking effects

Project Details

The client for this project was a high street bank, who wanted to showcase to their primary stakeholders what the effects of open banking would be on the mortgages market, and how these could negatively influence their share of the market.

Rough storyboard

Figuring what the story we wanted to tell was and what its key moments were. This was particularly important as there was a set amount of time allocated to the presentation, so we needed to make sure there was no fluff in the narrative and that the story resonated immediately.

To better understand the current mortgage scenario, we also talked with a few recent/upcoming house buyers to identify their painpoints

Developing the app screens

Bringing the Rightmove app into its future incarnation while staying true to their current branding, allowed for the story to be told in a realistic way.

Bringing it all together

The final story revolved around a young couple that wanted to buy a house and resorted to Rightmove. Rightmove allowed them to view house listings, choose a mortgage plan and proactively suggests them a house upgrade should their financial situation change throughout time. This cut the bank entirely out of the picture and provided the customers with a more seamless and pain free process, getting the point across that open banking provides visionary companies with a new way to target customers and address their needs.
